I'll be really honest and say that you can tell it's a first novel - the opening section on the first aid course was a tad overlong I thought, although it's a necessary introduction to the key characters and their lives. I was glad to read this series and I thoroughly enjoyed it as it's well told and the characters are fleshed out. She wants to “let the light in” on their relationship, either asking for the male singer to do this, or, potentially asking “who let the light in” in reference to their relationship getting exposed.

I admire your state of mind and wish you any remissions that can give you at least a modicum of relief. The author displays a true talent for giving the readers a real insight into the lives of the many characters, with only a certain number of pages to play around with. The lantern above, on the left, is by Amy Cooper, an artist who makes lovely, organic, porcelain luminaries of many sizes and shapes.Although fate had dealt her a bad hand, Benedict’s desertion had enabled her to meet the true love of her life and she has lived happily with her beloved Pascal in the artists’ community of Spindrift for the last two decades. Your challenges have been steeper and there are more excuses for self pity, which is always an evolution stopper if experienced for any length of time. This is one of those books that took me a long time to start reading, and then, it wasn't at all what I was expecting. I heartily endorse the earlier comment that ” No one goes through this life without being broken somehow “.

Charlotte Betts is a terrific storyteller with a gift for creating stories that immediately capture her readers’ imagination.By day she's a finance manager and looks at numbers a lot of the time, but by night she gets to use actual words and practices putting them together into sentences.

The storyline was interesting and had me rooting for all the people within the community, whilst at times tugging on the heart strings. Ellie is immensely likeable, Will is immensely gorgeous-sounding and I couldn’t help but fall a little bit in love with him, as I also did with Finn. However, an explosive encounter between Benedict and Pascal could end up putting paid to all of Edith’s hopes and dreams as dangerous secrets come to light that could end up jeopardising their beloved Cornish community. Kahlo embraced the Kintsugi philosophy by highlighting her prosthetic leg so it became a thing of beauty. And I have a large antique Japanese Imari bowl that had been openly, visibly, proudly repaired long before I acquired it … I cherish it! In so doing, she challenges us not to conceal a physical imperfection, visible deformity, or loss of a limb.
